Tuberculosis
TB is an infectious disease caused by various strains of mycobacteria, usually mycobacterium tuberculosis. It primarily affects young adults and adolescents (15-35 years). The incubation period of tuberculosis could be four to eight weeks. TB spreads slowly through air.
In Jan 2005, the former Ministry of Health initiated information system of TB management to collect the information about TB registration and TB patient(including the details about patients’ clinic medical records, treatment, monitoring and management) all over the country.
This database collected information about the national TB patients mainly including the TB registration, treatment by age group, sex and profession.
