Scarlet Fever
Scarlet fever is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Streptococcus (group A Strep). Symptoms include sore throat, fever and a characteristic red rash. When pathogen is inhaled, it will cause suppurative lesions in throat and liver, spleen, kidney, cardiac muscle and lymphatic nodes in severe conditions. The outcome of scarlet fever is usually good, except for few death cases. People could be infected all over the year, especially in winter and spring. The infection affects more children, between 5 to 15 years old.
